This project focuses on the design of a catalogue for Bill Viola’s exhibition Mirrors of the Unseen. Bill Viola is a pioneer of video art, known for exploring themes such as life, death and spirituality through immersive installations that combine moving images and sound.

The catalogue uses an extremely vertical vertically , designed to give prominence to the images, which are predominantly vertical as well. The design acts as a supporting framework for the artworks, allowing them to establish the focus and the rhythm of the catalogue.

The layout plays with text arranged both vertically and horizontally, creating a parallel with the way Viola approaches his work.

The side margins are kept very narrow, while the white space is concentrated more towards the centre, creating a more open and spacious reading experience without diminishing the presence of the artworks.

The cover features «Inverted Birth», a work that reflects Bill Viola’s characteristic style. As the work is a video, specific frames were selected for the front and back covers, ensuring that both images were positioned identically to maintain visual consistency.
